Mardi
Our silly girl Mardi. She doesn't like to do anything the "normal" way. Sometimes I think she is more cat than dog. She likes to sit perched on the stairs, climb up on your shoulders and now...finds herself a nice perch in front of the fireplace! Oh Mardi there is a reason you are my favorite dog! And it is nice ot see you showing an intestest in Grady these days. I guess his hair and mouth must smell pretty good. Did you all know that Mardi wants to be a dentist when she grows up? I will have to try and catch a photo of her checking for cavities.

Grandpa
One thing is clear I must have been clairvoyant when I bought this shirt for Grady before he was born. It is certainly true.

He loves his Grandpa. And so he should he has only got the one here to hang out with. Although I can be sure that my father would have made a fabulous Grampy Thornton. But Grandpa Doug already has a very special bond with Grady. He is not happy to sit still with anyone but Grandpa. Unless he is asleep you must bounce him, help him stand, give him something to suck and generally keep him entertained.

As you can see from this photo Grady doesn't mind one little bit that Grandpa takes a snooze. He is just happy to be with him. So he says "Grandpa you had a tough day, sit back relax, recline the couch and I will just play with these rings; Thanks for sticking around to hang out".
Yup "Grandpa is my hero".

Attempting to Catch a Smile!
It is awefully challenging to get a photo of a baby's smile! So here are our attempts. The video was when I was alone, hence the extreme close up! I think there is no big smile cuz Grady is thinking "Geez mom why do you have that black thing in your face, it makes it hard to smile at you!".

And here is the fabulous result! Now who could be angry to be up at 2:30am when you see this face! Not that this is when these photos were taken (they are from supper time) but that is the time I have posted this and Grady has just fallen asleep. Lately his new bedtime is between 2:30 and 3:30 am! Lucky tonight I got a good nap before Brian went to bed. Lucky for me our sweet little man smiles lots when he is up late!

Drums
We make it at last
So we finally make it for our dinner reservations at Capo! For those of you that don't know this is the restaurant that we were meant to go to the day Grady was born. I had made the joke "Wouldn't it be funny if we had to cancel" moments before Brian left to help some friends put sod in their yard. Not five minutes later I was on the phone to Brian "I think my water broke", lucky for me I was able to convince him that it was not another joke and he came home. After getting check out by the midwife; Brian returned to his plans of sodding and I stayed home to rest. As you all know things progressed quickly after that. We were only a few hours shy of making that reservation! I doubt they would have appreciated a brand new baby on a busy Saturday night! In any case we made it and had a lovely dinner two months later to the day. Thanks for the good company Candice, Warren, Lindsay and Frankie (our original dinner companions were able to join us for the real thing).
