A Lot to Say

Grady has started to say a few words. It is very entertaining and exciting to hear what words he masters.

Brian says his first word was Daddie or "Taddie" back in July but I say Mama and Dada don't really count. And not just because Daddie came first ;p. I don't think "Hi" counts either.

So I say Grady's first word is....Doggie! (surprise, surprise) He started saying it regularily near the end of August.

Now he is moving on to mastering the dogs names. I know Rebar is most people's favorite pup of our family but you'll be sad to hear Mardi always steals the little kids hearts (I think that it because she is so expressive and always wants to play). According to Grady we have "Mahdi" and "Doggie" .So far Rebar hasn't garnered enough interest for him to learn her name no matter how many times we tell him, she shouldn't feel bad she is in the same boat as me as Grady rarely says Mama.

After "Mahdi" came quite surprisely "Hank oo". So we have a well mannered young man on our hands! Very nice to hear. The most recent word is "Light". Lots of learning going on in our house, so funny which words seem to stick!

Heritage Park

On Sunday we decided to try something different and go on a family trip to Heritage Park. Since an annual pass was the same price as two admissions we thought that was a good deal and we would definitely go back at least once more and probably more since Grady will enjoy the rides when he gets a little bigger. Here are a few photos from our little trip. We had a good time and it was a beautiful day.

Going down for a ride on the Moye paddle steam boat

Sitting with mom on the upper deck

Checking out the view from the lower deck with dad.

Enjoying a ride on the train.

Walking

We have decided that Grady is now officially graduated from "First Steps" to "Walking". He will walk across a whole room and 50% of the time chooses to walk rather than crawl. Of course he doesn't like to do it slowly either I can only imagine what it will be like once he figures out running! Here are a couple pics I snapped to add to Grady's scrapbook.

Grady Packs Himself

This weekend Grady and I went to Edmonton for 3 days to visit Auntie Amanda for her birthday. While we were staying at Grandma's Grady discovered Bob's suitcase and tried to pack himself to go home with Bob. The first time he emptied out all of Bob's clothes before putting himself in, the second time he just hopped in . Unfortunately the only thing that remained packed was his socks, but we even got those back. I'm sure Grady would have loved to go home with Bob. They are pretty good pals after all.
Climbing into the suitcase.
Finding a good seat.
Looking very pleased with himself and got his socks all balled up ready to pack also.

What do you mean I can't go?

Climbing out.

It sure is entertaining to see what Grady will find to amuse himself even when there is a room full of toys!
