Christmassy Cousins

You try getting one 15.5 month old and one 11.5 month old to sit for a good pic.
We really needed Auntie Amanda's expertise for this one.
I think we at least managed to catch the moment I think the matching outfits are pretty darn cute even if everyone else may think they are corny!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A Favorite Place

This is the only cupboard Grady has access to so it is of course one of his favorites. He also fits inside perfectly in fact Grandma Gloria is always telling us we should take out the bottom three shelves so he can get right in and close the door! Too bad for Grady we are trying to find a way to lock it. Mostly because he likes to puts the spices in his mouth, including Tobasco sauce and Cajun Seasoning AND he threw away our brand new salt and pepper grinder when we weren't looking.

A Visit with Alexa

Recently Tif and Alexa popped over to babysit while I ran out for a doctor's appointment. Grady really likes little Alexa. I know this because so far she is the only baby or kid that Grady doesn't knock on the head with his knuckles. (I don't know by the way where he picked up that special trick but we are trying to break it before it turns into punches!) In any case he likes to look at her and give her kisses. He especially likes to take a peek in the stroller when we got for dog walks.

Grady just up from his nap sitting with Alexa while she takes a nap on the floor.
Kisses for Alexa
Soundly sleeping, all those kisses didn't even make her budge!

My Little Devil

This was Grady's hair this morning when he woke up.

My first thought? It looks a little like two little horns sticking out. Serves me right for thinking that!

Grady was a little devil ALL morning. In fact he didn't get up until 10am (Yes I know how lucky I am) and has already been put for a nap and it is only 12:15 pm! So albeit it was a short morning but he filled it with lots of bad feelings. I don't know if the hair was just showing how Grady was feeling or what but temper tantrums, lots of "No!" (from him and me) and general crankiness possessed my little boy this morning.
If you don't believe me ask Auntie Shelley and Grandma Gloria, they both phoned this morning and both could tell Grady was in a mood. Must be the hair. I took Grandma Gloria's advice and I combed it before he went for the nap! And he must need it cuz I don't hear anything but quiet sleeping.

Let's hope those demons leave and he wakes up with a better hairstyle!

A Trip to PEI

Grady and I ventured off on his first airplane ride at the beginning of December. It was a very last minute decision to fly out and join Grandma Linda in PEI and suprise Grammie Jenkins with a visit from her 12th great grandchild.
We were all set to go at 6am on Dec 5th but...Just after pulling away from the gate on time we sat and went nowhere. Then after some more waiting and a few announcements they said one engine wouldn't fire and so we had to wait for maintenance. So we waited and waited and waited. Grady did really well and enjoyed running around the airport. Then they grounded our plane! Luckily they got another one right away but I could tell from the time we would be missing our connection in Toronto. Westjet thought it was much better to at least get us to Toronto and wait there for a day than come back the next day. So we spent a night in Toronto, without extra diapers and a stroller (because Westjet forgot it on the first plane). Ah well an adventure with a great result and a good visit with Grammie. No time for anything touristy but it is hard to squeeze those things in with short days and afternoon naps!
Grady was a superstar traveller with a little help from gravol at nap times. He wouldn't sleep on the plane or in the airport without it as there were too many exicting people and things to see. But overall no tears or screams and very few grumps. Success!

So many nice places to explore!
Grady enjoys playing between the chairs at Calgary airport. He was the only one there at 6am with such a great big smile!
Mom and Grady in front of the giant Christmas tree at Calgary airport.
Checking out the early morning sights from the plane. Little did we know at this time that we wouldn't get to take off for another 6hrs!
Ready to go, too bad you don't get a seat Grady. You have to sit in mom's lap. But we did get lucky and had the whole row and most of the back of the plane to ourselves for the flights to Toronto and Charlottetown.
Saving on diapers while in the hotel room. We only had 5 left by the time we made it to Toronto and we still had a whole day before getting to PEI. This is Sunday morning after a night in the hotel. It was a mistake though to left Grady go diaperless so early, he pooped on the floor! Oh well the adventures of parenthood.
Playing with toys while waiting for our flight (one day late) at the Toronto airport.
Grady all tuckered out from a day of visiting with Great Grammie and showing off how cute he is. It's tough work but someone's gotta do it.
Grady, Mom and Grandma Linda enjoy a PEI lobster dinner.
Grady gets up close and personal with a lobster.
Grady, Great Grammie and Mom. What a nice suprise for her! Lucky she is 93 and didn't really figure out the suprise when Auntie Sylvia told her "I heard Leslie is coming". Grammie sure enjoyed watching Grady, although he didn't give too many cuddles because a bsy boy like him has things to do. But he sure made her a proud Great Grandma when everyone at Beach Grove Home told her how nice he was.
Grady checking out how the cupboards in the Galley work. He charmed the flight attendants into letting him play in the back before take off.

Grady Visits Santa

Checking out the new Christmas display at Southcentre Mall. It is pretty cool. There is a giant tree with tunnels and bridges and all sorts of neat things for the kids to look at while they wait in line.
Crossing the bridge on the way to see Santa

So exicted to say hello he forgets he knows how to walk! Grady did pretty good. He was a bit scared and then mad when Santa showed him the cookies in a box but didn't let him have any! The people working there were very patient and gave him several tries for a good picture.

A slide ride at the end.

The end result, not too bad. He doesn't look completely tramautized!
