Ellison Provincial Park BC Camping

We got out on our second camping trip of the year at the end of June. We were meant to be gone June 24-July 2 but mother nature had other plans a sent a mudslide west of Revelstoke. We decided to wait an extra day and hope for the best Monday morning. It mostly worked out in our favor. The road did open eventually but we were stuck in Golden for about 3 hours.
This camping trip we headed out to interior BC to enjoy (we hoped) the sunshine on Lake Okanagon at Ellison Provincial Park just outside of Vernon BC. We were meeting the Martin family 1/2(ish) and joining the Payne and Freckleton families who were lucky enough to leave on Saturday and miss the mud slide.
Excited to go camping!

I`m sure one of the best moments of Grady`s whole camping trip!

Fun on the Kicking Horse Bridge
I actually had way more photos but something weird happened and they didn`t transfer to the computer and I formatted the card before I noticed. Lesson learned? Probably not but I will be more careful next time (maybe)
Splashing around at Dog Beach. Which was not a short walk from the campsite as the map would have you believe but 1/2 down a slippy, slidey hill.
Grady luckily did not get swimmer's itch like some of the other kids.

Daddy's have to have fun too!

The other favorite past-time of this trip was throwing pine cones into the fire
All in all it was a great trip. We got more sunny days than not and it wasn't too stinking hot to sleep at night. We enjoyed some wineries (photos lost, sorry) and other local attractions. We learned not to joke about whether or not you will take the kids to McD's for lunch and that your fridge will drain your battery if you are stuck somewhere for too long.
I don't think I would hurry back to that campground. The beach was too far for my liking when you are looking for a beach camping experience. This was our longest trip so far and I think it was the perfect amount of time. We didn't have to buy too much ice to keep the food cold and the week there made the 8hr drive worth it. Next year Sicamous?
