Dodgeball

I'm not sure if you know that Brian and I play Dodgeball once a week on a recreational team. It seems silly I know but the reason I like it is that you never bump into anyone or know anyone who was a Dodgeball star in High School. Whereas there are plenty of people out there that played and excelled at Football, Basketball, Volleyball etc. And I find that they have something to prove when they are out there on the court, I know I would too if I were playing basketball. BUT no one played Dodgeball competitively so I find the large majority is there to have fun playing a silly sport and get some exercise.

Busytown Busy Live in Calgary

Koba entertainment generously allowed Grady and I to attend the live action show of Richard Scarry's Busytown. I had tried to get tickets since Huckle has become one of Grady's favorite characters but when I looked for tickets all that was left was far away from the stage and I learned from going to the Wiggles that it is more worth it to be where they can see it! So when I had the opportunity to get some tickets I jumped at it!

Thomas the Tank Engine is coming to Heritage Park

ALL ABOARD DETECTIVES! I wanted to let you know that I have been selected to be a  “Mommy Reporter” for the Day Out with Thomas: Mystery on the Rails Tour 2012 event at the Heritage Park Historical Village on May 12^th .   Pretty cool right? Have you been before? We never have but I have heard it is a pretty good event!

Easter 2012

Since they had the excuse of just having a two week old baby Bryan and Shelley hosted Easter this year. It is a good middle point for all of us too! They made a fabulous beef tenderloin and were great hosts.

Calgary Zoo with Cousins

As you know the Thornton family has recently grown. Grams (Shelley's mom) was in town for a couple weeks after Henry was born to help out and of course cuddle her first grandson! Last week Grams headed back to Ontario and Auntie Shelley, Isabel and Henry were looking to hangout with us for a bit rather than head straight back to Red Deer.We decided on the zoo although the weather decided to not be so nice out. We bundled up in blanket etc since we had already packed away the winter gear (a little early I guess!)

The one good thing about cold weather? No line up for the penguins! We walked right in.

Did I tell you I have a nephew?

Henry John Thornton is 4 weeks old now and I think I haven't yet really shared pics of him and his big cousin Grady :D It was hard to get a pic with Big Sis Isabel as she is still getting used to the idea of having someone else around!

April 23, 2012 - Alberta Election 2012 - Go Vote!

Go Get Your Vote On! - whether your do or don't want the Wildrose Party in power get out to the polls and have your say! If all those people whining about NDP, Liberal or Independents etc not having a chance actually showed up to cast their vote you never know what might happen!

Pend Oreille Resort in Hope Idaho

When we booked our trip to Montana this year we also booked a bonus week at Pend Oreille Resort in Hope Idaho. We thought it was a great deal and chances were we would be able to make the extra trip at the end of March no problem. It also happened to work out that it was spring break. Something we didn't know when we booked because we just took whatever week at any resort within driving distance that we could get and Pend Oreille Resort was the only one with any availability.

An Easter Treat

We had a busy Thursday before the Easter long weekend but it was lots of fun. We managed to cram in a preschool Spring Party, a visit to Daddy`s office to drop off treats and making snowmen!

Telus Spark Calgary

I realized that the other week I promised to post the photos from our visit to Telus Spark in Calgary aka the new Science Centre but then I never did! Oops!

In any case better late then never ;) We went to the Spark while Auntie Amanda was here doing some baby pics for our friends. She has an annual pass to the Edmonton Telus World of Science and we had some discounted tickets (I don't know that I would pay full price to go).

Calgary Zoo Penguin Plunge and Eggstravaganza

We are featured over on Family Fun Calgary today (actually that is a lie they put it up a while ago I just haven't been in the basement to link up and post more photos until today :D) So check out our second visit (we finally got in even though the line ups are still about an hour!) to Calgary Zoo's Penguin Plunge. I am going to be brief here and mostly just share pictures and a bit about our trip on the weekend to the Calgary Zoo's Eggstravaganza went :D I guess I am in time to link up with Wordless Wednesday Here and Here so since I am being brief I will do that too :D
