First Year of Preschool Over

That sound you hear? That is the world's tiniest violin playing a song for me as I mourn school being over for the year. It may have only been 1.5hr break 2 times a week but it was time and silence all to me. But summer is here and we are going to do lots of fun stuff!

Grady's school had a carnival for the year end party. It was pretty cool, although I still don't get why we have to try and get 100+ parents and kids to eat at exactly the same time? THAT was chaos! Lucky we happened to head in that direction around the right time so we ended up head of the line :D

They also sang on a song or two for us on their actual last day of school and I got a lovely thank you and gift for having been the vice president of the parent board. I get the joy of being president next year. Here is a video of their songs:

Cowboy Day

Grady's school had a dress up like a cowboy day in June. It actually stopped raining long enough in Monsoon-June or Juneuary if you like that we could enjoy some sunshine. It was a great way to prep for the upcoming Centennial Calgary Stampede. Grady insisted everyone where a hat including "Blanklet". He was very upset when Daddy told him it wasn't actually Stampede yet. I think he was more confused than when he celebrated his "unbirthday" at school the week before. I get that it can be pretty confusing!
Grady also insisted on taking his "motor bike" guess a cowboy's gotta ride something?

Birthday Celebrations in Edmonton

We headed to Edmonton the weekend before my birthday so my side of the family would have a chance to get together to celebrate my and my sister-in-law's birthdays before my mom jetted off to PEI to visit with Grammie. It was a bit of a stressful trip given that Grady was in the hospital for an asthma attack due to a cold a few days before we left but if anything we are pretty sure cats are another trigger for him so we will know better for next time.

Camping at Spruce Grove Resort - Fairmont Hot Springs BC

It has been a while since I have had a chance to write here as I have been busy filling orders for Hippo Hug! We went camping for May Long Weekend again this year and since the weather is never great in Alberta we headed out to BC again and back to Spruce Grove Resort in Fairmont Hot Springs BC. This is our second year in a row at this campground and the fourth time overall that we have been.
We went with a group of friends again as camping is always better with friends and we booked the same river side spots (Thanks for arranging Tiffany!) Here Francis is trying out Grady's new fishing pole, a short lived activity for both boys. Not the great toy I was hoping for but maybe they are both a bit young yet?
